Now let's start what we came for. Hike towards famous Lukomir village tracing a route over Studeni potok (Cold creek) and Rakitnica Canyon. While the creek may run dry during the summer months, the scenery remains spectacular, offering glimpses of local shepherds tending to their flocks along the way. But this hike isn't just about putting one foot in front of the other; our experienced guide will introduce you with local legends, customs, and even assist in translating conversations with the friendly locals. Covering a distance of 7.4 km/4.6 mi from Umoljani to Lukomir, this trek boasts an equal balance of ascents and descents, with a total elevation gain of 420 m/1378 ft. Upon reaching Lukomir, a delightful reward awaits in the form of a freshly baked traditional pie, prepared in the time-honored manner—a true taste of local delicacy. After the meal and soaking in the sun, we make our return journey along the same route, this time with a slightly easier elevation gain of 313 m/1027 ft. This descent comes as a relief, especially after filling your stomach with the spinach or meat pie.
